Anzac Day as we know is a very special day to honour and remember all the heroes who have served and died for this amazing country that we live in. It is observed every 25th April of the year and people come around together, and in spirit, to commemorate this special day.
Part of this tradition is to lay wreaths on memorials to remember all the fallen heroes in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. This was a long time tradition that can be traced back to Greek Mythology.
It is very likely that you may have a bit more time in your hands right now. So if you’re looking for a fun and special activity, we are here to show you how to create an Anzac Wreath on your own. This is also the best activity to get your kids involved, it’ll be fun for sure.
You may find these Australian fresh flowers at the nearest local flower market or you may visit our online market and we can deliver them to you right away.
Before anything else, don’t forget to soak your Oasis foam in water so the flowers will look fresh and beautiful for quite some time.
So let’s get this started.
Step1. First, what we need to start is to base out the wreath with beautiful Eucalyptus. Grab your scissors and cut some Gums (2-3inches length) and stick them all the way around the wreath base.
Step 2. Take your Umbrella Fern. Cut only some portions of it, and take the bottom leaves off. Layer them around the wreath, in an up and down manner.
Step 3. Take out your Viburnum, cut off the stems, and fill around the holes in between the Eucalyptus and Umbrella ferns to cover the whole base.
Step 4. Next up, we’re going to use the beautiful Coastal Candy Proteas. They have large stems so you’ll need to cut the stems in an angle up to your desired height. After cutting the stem, take off all the foliage underneath and stick them around the wreath as your focal point.
Step 5. Take your White Daisies, cut the stems and stick them around the wreath in between the proteas.
Step 6. We’re going to pop some colour to this Anzac Day wreath with the Brain Celosia and Yellow Daisies. Cut the stems to the desired length and stick them at the centre of each white Daisies.
Step7. Lastly, we’re going to fill the holes around with the beautiful Ellicarpus foliage. These leaves will give out a little different tone on your arrangement. You may also put on top of the wreath a beautiful purple ribbon with Lest We Forget print to top it off. Then you have it, a beautiful looking floral wreath perfect for Anzac Day.
